Retrofit & Renewables Area Data: Where the Poorly Rated Homes Are
Find the areas with the most homes that need a heat pump, insulation or solar, before you spend on leads.
For heat-pump, insulation and solar installers choosing territories, and for anyone planning a retrofit campaign. Every file ranks its areas so the best targets come first.
What is in the pack
- UK: energy certificates (EPCs) by band A to G for every local authority in England and Wales and every Scottish council, over the last year and since records began, with the share rated E to G and a ranking.
- Ireland: Building Energy Ratings by band for every county, city and Dublin postal district, latest year and since 2009.
- France: 15 million current energy certificates summed up for 30,000+ communes: share rated F or G (passoires thermiques), heating by oil, gas, electricity, wood, LPG or district heating, share built before 1975, and average energy use.
- Netherlands: homes by construction period for every municipality, with the share built before 1945 and before 1975.
- Australia: rooftop solar, batteries, solar water heaters and heat pumps installed in 14,500 areas, with their postcodes, installs in the last 12 months and solar systems per 100 homes.
Good to know
- Energy certificates are issued when a home is sold, let, built or improved, so they describe a large share of an area's homes, not every one.
- Oil- and LPG-heated homes in France are off the gas network: the usual first targets for heat pumps.
- Everything is counted by area. The pack contains no addresses and nothing that identifies a home or a person.
