Data sources & licence
Both datasets are built from public open data. You can reuse them commercially as long as you keep the attributions below. The publishers do not endorse this product.
Ireland
- Residential Zoned Land Tax maps: Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH), CC BY 4.0. Maps checked monthly: the draft each February, the final each January.
- Property Price Register: Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA); commercial re-use permitted under the PSRA's re-use terms. Attribution: “Contains information from the Residential Property Price Register, © Property Services Regulatory Authority”. We use aggregate figures only (county medians), not individual sales.
- Rents: Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) Average Monthly Rent Report, published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), CC BY 4.0.
- National planning applications (NPAD): Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, National Planning Application Database (data.gov.ie), CC BY 4.0.
- Housing completions: Central Statistics Office (CSO), New Dwelling Completions, CC BY 4.0.
- Schools: Department of Education and Youth, Data on Individual Schools, CC BY 4.0.
- Shops, GPs, pharmacies and railway stations: © OpenStreetMap contributors, Open Database Licence (ODbL). The distance columns derived from OpenStreetMap are share-alike: if you publish a database built from them, it must be under the ODbL too.
RZLT liability is self-assessed; the local authority's published map is authoritative. Not legal or tax advice.
France
All French sources are published under the Licence Ouverte 2.0 (Etalab). Attribution: name the source and the date of the data.
- Cartofriches: Cerema, the national brownfield inventory (36,238 sites). Attribution: “Source: Cerema, Cartofriches”.
- Property sales (DVF, Demandes de valeurs foncières): Direction générale des Finances publiques (DGFiP). DVF comes with extra re-use conditions: pages showing its figures must not be indexed by external search engines, and the data must not be used to re-identify individuals. That is why this website describes the price figures in words only. If you republish them, the same conditions apply to you.
- Other commune figures (rents, housing permits, risk-prevention plans, property tax rates, local facilities, census and income): ANIL and the Ministère de la Transition écologique (carte des loyers), SDES (Sitadel housing permits), the Ministère de la Transition écologique via Géorisques (GASPAR risk procedures), DGFiP (REI local tax rates) and INSEE (BPE facilities; census and Filosofi income).
Site areas are the owner's whole land unit as Cartofriches records it, not the brownfield's footprint.
Scotland
- Scottish Vacant and Derelict Land Survey: Scottish Government, Open Government Licence v3.0. Attribution: “Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.”
Switzerland
- Bauzonenstatistik Schweiz (building-zone statistics): Bundesamt für Raumentwicklung ARE and the cantonal planning offices. Open data; credit the source.
- Bauzonen im Kanton Zürich: Kanton Zürich, Amt für Raumentwicklung, via opendata.swiss. Open use, commercial use allowed; credit the source.
Personal data
We don't include owner names; Scottish sites give the owner's category only. For French sites, the location is exact for sites owned by companies or public bodies, approximate (about 1 km) for other owners, and withheld for privately owned housing.
